Ipods and iphones are cool but I do miss *having* the music in some solid form. And Theresa, your nerdiness in the past now makes you cool--just like all the record collectors in the Mission. Same applies to the love of Depeche Mode and INXS. But isn't it hard to resist the urge to say, "Yes, but I liked them the FIRST time they were popular!" And keep resisting the Kindle. Although I find it hilarious that I'm bashing Kindle when I can see them posting an ad on this very site an inch below my typing.Malena Watroushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01260925686006819181noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981034231309586493.post-80706131633161301802010-02-04T20:42:15.202-08:002010-02-04T20:42:15.202-08:00Great post. Yep, I was the nerd buying 'em while everyone else was buying the new fangled CDs.

In graduate school, I remember discussing technology trends, how they eclipse one another, time and again, and how they affect information sharing, depending on if you still own/have access to the device (however archaic) to play it on. Fascinating topic.

PS: I don't own a Kindle. While I'm no Luddite, I'm waiting until they become cheaper & better.*https://www.blogger.com/profile/06484208765656281917noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3981034231309586493.post-554673086521715452010-02-04T09:14:39.683-08:002010-02-04T09:14:39.683-08:00I loved, loved, loved my old mini-disc players! Re...I loved, loved, loved my old mini-disc players! Recording my CDs onto mini-disc mix-tapes had the feel of making cassettes, but with a bleeding edge technology twist. And then I bought my first iPod, and my mini-discs were retired forever. I blame it all on Apple.St. Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12168909648954999071noreply@blogger.com
